What to Know and Where to Go: Arizona Car Week 2024

This year’s Arizona auctions are just days away — and there’s a lot to do and see while you’re on-site in the Valley of the Sun. Here’s what to expect:

The Arizona Concours

Sunday, January 21, 7 am (Concours Plus Admission) 9 am (General Admission)

The Scottsdale Civic Center

3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd,

Scottsdale, AZ 85251

The reborn Arizona Concours returns for its second year at the Scottsdale Civic Center the weekend prior to most of this year’s collector car auction action.  This year’s theme is “The Art of Automotive Design,” and more than 100 world-class cars will be on-site to compete for honors. Linkage Publisher Donald Osborne returns to emcee, joined by Amanda Busick, Fox Sports motorsports presenter and reporter.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or day of show for $100 each. Concours Plus Admission is $125 and includes early admission and access to the Saturday Lecture Series.

Barrett-Jackson

Saturday, January 20 through Sunday, January 28, gates open at 8 am.

WestWorld of Scottsdale

16601 N. Pima Rd

Scottsdale, AZ 85260

The Scottsdale auction is Barrett-Jackson’s flagship event, running from January 20 through January 28 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. This is a lot more than an auto auction, too — in fact, the night before the gates open — January 19 — Barrett-Jackson is putting on a “Rock the Block” concert featuring Foreigner, and on Sunday, there’s the Future Classics car show, presented by Meguiar’s. Dodge is back to provide thrill rides, as is Toyota, and the Barrett-Jackson Cup will bring together 50 top custom cars that compete for honors, both from judges Bobby Alloway and Troy Trepanier, and also the crowd on-site.

Linkage’s Managing Editor Jim Pickering will take part in a Future Collectibles Symposium on Tuesday, January 23, joined by industry experts and Linkage contributors Jay Harden, Sam Stockham, Sean Morris and Tyson Hugie. It’s free to attend for Barrett-Jackson attendees.

And then there’s the auction itself, which will present 1,900 no-reserve lots, all crossing the block throughout the week. Star cars include a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, a 2019 Ford GT, a 2017 Ferrari F12 TdF, a 1965 Shelby GT350 and many, many more.
