This January, Mecum Auctions will return to Kissimmee for what it typically on of the company’s biggest overall sales of the year. The consignment list is already coming together, with a wide range of both impressive and varied lots announced for the 13-day event.
One of this year’s prime consignments is the Porsche 917K that was used in the filming of “Le Mans” in 1971. This car was bought new by Steve McQueen and Solar Productions, configured as a short-tail car. It has its original camera mounting locations still intact and has been restored to the same configuration as seen in the film.
