Artcurial’s 16th “Automobiles Sur Les Champs” auction takes place on Thursday, December 3. This event comes with a new twist: for the first time, the Sur Les Champs auction will be broadcast live via social media.
Artcurial is known for bringing an interesting group of cars to market at each of its sales, and this event will be no different, with everything from a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing (est. $1.3m – $1.55m) to a barn-find 1960 AC Bristol roadster (est. $360k – $600k) available.
The 300SL was among the first 10 delivered to the UK. It wears an older restoration and is said to have matching numbers and just 61,000 miles.
Other rarities available here include a Chenard & Walcker type Y8 Tank, which is in need of a complete restoration and is missing its engine — but it is one of only a few ever produced. If that’s too off-beat for you, watch for the Ferrari Dino, several Porsche 356s, the Maserati Bora, a handful of Jaguar E-Types, Austin-Healeys, Citorens, Facel Vegas, etc. There’s even a Cadillac-powered 1932 Ford lowboy hot rod available, which is strange to see outside the US. See the complete list here.
In total, 65 lots will be offered during the three-hour broadcast, including 25 at no reserve. The show starts at 16.00 CET (10:00 am EST).
Artcurial offers live bidding on their site — but even if you’re not bidding, you should set aside some time to check out the auction action as it happens on their Facebook page.
