Bonhams’ annual Goodwood Members’ Meeting sale, held April 14, will present a selection of automobilia from the estate of Patricia Phyllis Surtees — all of which spanning the period of time that she was married to racing driver John Surtees.
The two were married from 1962 until 1979, but Pat remained dedicated to Formula One throughout her life — she never failed to watch all the Formula One drivers in practice, qualifying and in the races themselves until her death in 2023. She was incredibly knowledgable and dedicated to the sport.
The collection spans from lots 29 through 88 and includes:
John Surtees’ 1964 FIA World Driver’s Champion trophy, estimate £12,000 -£15,000
Pat Surtees’ Lemania Nero stopwatch and Ferodo lap chart books, estimate £2,000 – £3,000
Two Monaco Grand Prix posters, 1965 and 1966, estimate £800 – £1,000
The 1964 German Grand Prix winner’s sash, estimate £800 – £1,000
The Goodwood Members’ Meeting auction takes place on April 14 in Chichester, Goodwood. See the complete list of lots on offer here.
