Phoenix. Miami. Paris. Monaco. Monterey. And now Dubai. RM Sotheby’s has added another sale to its growing annual calendar, designed to bring top-level lots to market in a place where over-the-top has a completely different meaning.
The sale, scheduled for March 9, will take place in the Concrete venue in the Al Quoz district. The list of consignments skews to the super and hyper, with McLaren, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Ferrari and more on the docket. The complete catalog is now live and can be seen here.
Highlights on the list include a 2017 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 Coupe — one of 20 so built as a tribute to what would have been Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday. The Centenario utilizes the carbon fiber subframes and monocoque of the Aventador with updated aerodynamics, rear-wheel steering and increased power. The 6.5L V12 fitted makes 759 horsepower. RM Sotheby’s estimates it to be worth $2m to $2.5m.
In addition, the sale will also present a 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR — one of just three RSRs produced, each only for the Japanese market. At one time, this was the world’s fastest production car, with a 5.0L V8 tuned to 1,160 horsepower, which was enough for a factory-tuned RS to achieve 447 km/h blast though the Nevada desert. Each of the three was built to client specifications — this one is finished in black with red accents and a black leather interior. RM Sotheby’s expects it to bring from $2.8m too $3.4m.
A 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupe will also take center stage here in Dubai, featuring 1,140 horsepower from its hybrid-assisted 11,000-rpm Cosworth V12 engine. That’s enough to give it a 0-100 km/h run of 2.6 seconds and a top speed in excess of 400 km/h. This Formula One racer for the road is one of just 150 produced, this one finished in Scintilla Silver with Speed Red graphics. RM Sotheby’s has it pegged at $2.9m too $3.3m.
