Lamborghini is shooting to electrify its entire lineup in 2024, which highlights something that car people around the world have already come to understand: The traditional era of the supercar, at least as it has been known, is coming to an end.
To mark this shift, Lamborghini is working with RM Sotheby’s to offer the final Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Coupe, along with a one-of-one NFT created by Krista Kim, Steve Aoki and [INVNT GROUP]. From April 19-21, the car and the NFT will be up for auction via RM Sotheby’s site.
For the NFT, the team has combined three forms of art: design, music and technology. The result is the first-ever Lamborghini car created specifically for the metaverse — and a digital replica of the physical car, delivered to the buyer as a GLB file.
The physical car was configured using the exclusive Lamborghini customization program, designed by Krista Kim and Steve Aoki to be minimalist and full of bespoke features. The car’s interior trim was designed to have a gradient finish, inspired by the Mars Metaverse Sunset, and outside, the car has a gradient paint fade from Blue Nethuns to Nero Noctis — something only created previously for VVIP Lamborghini clients. The car will be built and delivered to the winning bidder in September, 2022.
The winning bidder will also get VIP treatment via Lamborghini, including virtual previews of upcoming Lamborghini models, exclusive local dealer event invites, one-time access to the Lamborghini VIP experience, a private tour of the Lamborghini Museum, meet-and-greets with Krista Kim and Steve Aoki and more.
