Rétromobile — the French celebration of all things automotive — has been rescheduled from its typical early February dates until March 16-20, 2022.
The COVID situation is to blame for this need to reschedule, as several countries have imposed restrictive measures to combat the Omicron outbreak. Those measures dissuaded both visitors and exhibitors from confirming their attendance, and after a survey showed 80% of clients preferred a later date, the event shifted gears once again.
This is the third time the event has rescheduled due to COVID. The 2021 event, originally scheduled for February 2021. was first rescheduled for June 2021, and then it moved to February 2022, all due to public health and safety needs within the area.
“Everyone in the team is looking forward to meeting up with the visitors again and sharing the 2022 show with them!” said Jean-Sébastien Guichaoua, director of Rétromobile.
In addition, Artcurial’s annual Rétromoble auction at the Porte de Versailles has also moved its dates to match. The Rétromobile Salon auction is now taking place March 18, 19 and 20 — with on-site viewing of all 170 cars and 30 motorcycles planned to take place during that time.
As of this writing, both Bonhams and RM Sotheby’s still have auctions planned for early February in Paris. Watch this space for updates as they become available.
