It seems like the 2022 Arizona Auction week is still a long way away, but it’s not.
The first lot will roll across Barrett-Jackson’s stage in the massive WestWorld tent on January 22, 2022.
It might take you a couple weeks to wade through all the Arizona Auction Week online catalogs, but that’s a fun way to get ready for the start of the 2022 collector car year.
This year, Barrett-Jackson, RM Sotheby’s, Bonhams, Gooding & Company and Worldwide Auctioneers have full auction dockets.
Here are a few details on each auction:
Barrett-Jackson
Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction is the biggest event of the week, with well over 1,000 cars set to cross the block at WestWorld of Scottsdale from January 22-30.
A 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing — at no reserve — is one of the star cars.
Linkage is producing two free seminars for Barrett-Jackson’s Behind the Hobby series this year:
“Future Collectibles,” hosted by Linkage Managing Editor Jim Pickering, will single out cars that are expected to grow in popularity during the next few years. This seminar is scheduled for January 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Equidome, which is near the main auction stage.
“The Market,” hosted by Linkage Publisher Donald Osborne, will explore the increasingly complicated collector car market. Our panel will help you know what questions to ask when buying a collector car — and what to do with your car after it comes home with you. This seminar is on January 27 from 9:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m. in the Equidome.
Both events will be live streamed on Barrett-Jackson’s site — and on linkagemag.com.
WestWorld of Scottsdale is located at 16601 North Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85360. For more information, including the online catalog, visit www.barrett-jackson.com
Gooding & Company
Gooding & Company’s Geared Online Scottsdale Edition will have many cars on display at Scottsdale Hanger One — but all bidding will be online this year.
Bidders can view the cars in person in Scottsdale from January 26-28 — it is possible to arrange a test drive. Online bidding begins on January 24, and lots begin to close on January 28.
Gooding will post their online catalog on January 18.
One of Gooding’s star cars is an amazing 1961 Maserati 5000 GT.
Scottsdale Hanger One is located at 15220 North 78th Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85260

Worldwide Auctioneers
A 1957 Dual-Ghia convertible and a 1935 Delahaye 135 M are two of the star cars at Worldwide Auctioneers 2022 Scottsdale Auction.
The auction dates are January 26-27, and preview days are January 24-27.
Worldwide is setting up at Singh Meadows, 1490 E. Weber Drive, Tempe, AZ 85281.

Bonhams
Want to see a bunch of gorgeous cars? Visit Bonhams Scottsdale Auction, and take a good look at the 1958 AC Ace Roadster or the 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione with Le Mans history.
And that’s just the start.
The 275 GTB is also Ferrari Classiche Certified and ran in many other prestigious races in period.
If you want to bid on these cars — or any other car in Bonhams’ Scottsdale Auction — be at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa on January 27 — or register to bid online.
The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is at 6902 East Greenway Parkway, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

RM Sotheby’s
The Tenenbaum Collection — a group of rare and exciting German cars, including a 1987 Porsche 959 — is one the highlights of RM Sotheby’s January 27 Arizona Auction.
Other cars in the collection include a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Cabriolet and a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT.
RM Sotheby’s will set up at their usual Arizona digs — the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, 2400 E. Missouri Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
