Looking for a classic Mercedes-Benz cabriolet?
Noble Auctions has consigned a private collection of Mercedes-Benz cars — 17 in total — ranging from a 1934 170 Sport Roadster through a 1960 220SE Ponton coupe.
Of the 17 cars on offer, the majority are cabriolets, and most have been completely restored — although some are in driver-level condition or are wearing older restorations. They’re being offered as “A private Mercedes-Benz Collection,” which is taking place online here, with the online auction closing on December 15.
Due to COVID-19 measures, the collection, based in Zutendaal, Belgium, is visible by appointment only. However, the site has detailed shots of each lot, as well as information about each car’s history.
Cars to watch include a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 220S Cabriolet Ponton, which has been completely restored in its original “Erdbeerrot” hue, a 1951 Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet A, and four (!) 1950 Mercedes-Benz 170S Cabriolet Bs, including this one, claimed to be one of the best examples available anywhere.
Noble Auctions is a relative newcomer to the auction scene, and they have their own system of bidding that takes some of the pressure out of the process by adding five minutes onto the auction after each last-minute bid is placed.
