It was just a few years ago that Mecum added Glendale to its already packed auction schedule. In that short time, the sale has proven to be a winner, with top-notch cars and strong sales totals year to year. For 2022, the number of consignments has surged to 1,500, all of which will gather at State Farm Stadium and cross the auction block from March 16 to 19.
The sale is just a week away, so now is the time to study the the digital catalogs for Glendale 2022 to make your wish list.
The auction is set to offer a diverse lineup of cars from manufacturers across the world, from ‘60s American pickups to modern European supercars. A couple of the main attractions in Glendale include a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Murphy Convertible Coupe and a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette roadster. The Duesenberg is one of 60 produced with a convertible coupe body by Murphy and has been awarded ACD Club Category One Certification. The ‘54 Corvette is one of only four finished in black with a red interior and is part of the Hooked on Vettes Collection being offered in Glendale.
As for supercars, Mecum is offering a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT in showroom-fresh condition that has covered just 182 miles and one of the 64 North American examples finished in Seal Gray Metallic with a Terracotta leather interior. A 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta with a Bianco Avus exterior and Nero Stripes is also up for grabs. Like the Carrera GT, the Speciale Aperta is in pristine shape with just 98 miles on the clock.
The aforementioned Hooked on Vettes Collection is one of the many collections featured in Glendale. Another is the 10-car Jim Osterman Collection comprised of 1950s and ‘60s Americana and featuring a 1958 Chevrolet Impala convertible fitted with a Tri-Power 348-ci V8. The Southern California Ford Collection slated to cross the block is headlined by a rotisserie-restored 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 fastback in Grabber Blue.
