A time-capsule 1957 BMW 507 Series II Roadster is one of the star cars of Bonhams’ September 30 Audrain Concours Auction in Newport, R.I.
The matching-numbers BMW, Lot 133, has been in the care of one family since new. The car has Rudge wheels and has been out of public view for the past 40 years. The pre-sale estimate for the car is $1.8 million to $2 million.
Other notable cars on offer include Lot 119, a 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, which has a pre-sale estimate of $1.1 million to $1.3 million.
Lot 112, a 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, carries a pre-sale estimate of $110,000 to $130,000.
The sale also includes many other collector cars — and a large selection of child cars, including many vintage pedal cars.
Bidders can visit the Bonhams auction on September 29 and 30 at the Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week Concours Village, which is located at the International Tennis Hall of Fame at 194 Bellevue Ave., Newport, R.I. 02840.
