A 1926 Bugatti Type 37 Grand Prix and a Bertone-bodied 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 drophead coupe are the current headline cars for Gooding & Company’s Geared Online/Scottsdale Edition Auction.

This online-only auction is scheduled for January 18-22, 2021, during the traditional Arizona Auction Week.

The Bugatti, chassis 37227, is well known in Bugatti circles. Noted Broadway set designer Peter Larkin owned the car from 1958 until his death is 2019. The car shows wonderful patina from decades of regular, careful use.

The pre-sale estimate is $650k to $850k.

The Aston Martin is one of two DB2/4 drophead coupe cars with Bertone bodies. Giovanni Michelotti was the designer.

This car, chassis LML/506, took 3rd in its class during the 1955 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The car underwent a full restoration in 2006.

The pre-sale estimate is $1m to $1.4 million.

The entire online auction catalog will be released on January 11. All cars in this auction are available for inspection at Gooding & Company’s Southern California facility.
