Mecum’s Kissimmee auction, which is running right now, brings thousands of cars to auction in central Florida every year. But the auction is only a part of a group of events that take place in the area during the early weeks of January.
In Old Town, car shows and local-style cruises take place weekly. The Wednesday Night Themed Car Show highlights a rotating selection of classics that range from fat-fendered Fords through vintage trucks. On Fridays, the Muscle Car Show & Cruise features muscle and performance cars from 1964 and newer and classics from 1983 and older. On Saturdays, the long-running Saturday Classic Car Show Cruise hosts show-level hot rods, street rods and antique cars from 1985 and older.
The Promenade at Sunset Walk entertainment district is another classic car go-to, with a weekly schedule of events that starts with Show Car Saturday Nights. There, vehicles of all eras, makes and models are welcome, with the festivities taking place each Saturday from 4 to 8 pm. Additionally, The Promenade Car and Truck Show, held on the second Sunday of every month from 11 am to 2 pm, also runs throughout the season.
If you’re heading to the area for the Kissimmee auction, be sure to check out some of these other events as well.
