This year marks the 70th anniversary of America’s Sports Car, and Monterey Car Week will be taking notice.
This year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will celebrate 70 years of Corvette at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca — and you can bet on there being a good selection of Corvette racers in the mix, working on the best line through the legendary Corkscrew.
The celebration takes place August 16-19, and it will include a curated display of Corvette milestones, alongside 400 historic and authentic race cars competing in 14 different classes each day.
“We are excited to be sharing the legacy, history and heritage of Corvette at this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion,” says John Narigi, president and general manager of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. “Kids across many generations have dreamt of owning or riding in a Corvette in their lifetime. We welcome Corvette’s return with their enthusiasm to Monterey and sharing their history, along with Corvette’s future.”
This is an inclusive racing weekend — spectators are allowed to stroll the pits and speak with drivers and owners and see the cars up close. In terms of Monterey Car Week events, it doesn’t get much more visceral than open headers thundering by in the pits on their way to scream down the straight.
Full ticket packages from single day tickets to comprehensive VIP experiences in the Legends Club are available online at WeatherTechRaceway.com or by calling WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca’s tickets and accommodations specialists at 831-242-8200. For added visitor convenience, the Laguna Seca Recreation Area campground is open to provide convenient access to the races and surrounding destinations.
