Cadillac recently rocked the car world with news of its 2022 CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing cars.
They’re monsters.
The CT5-V Blackwing roars to life with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 668 horsepower and is capable of 200 mph. The power runs through a 6-speed manual transmission.
Yes, there are three pedals.
The CT4-V Blackwing has a 3.6-liter twin-turbo engine with 472 horsepower and a 0-60 mph speed of 3.8 seconds. This car also offers the 6-speed manual transmission.
One can only wonder what they’re saying in Stuttgart and Munich.
These cars are set for release this summer, but Barrett-Jackson will auction the first production-line cars — VIN 001 — of the CT5-V Blackwing and the CT4-V Blackwing during their March 20-27 Scottsdale Auction.
All proceeds from the two auctions will go to Black Ambition, Pharrell Williams’ non-profit effort to help Black and Latinx entrepreneurs who are creating new tech, design, healthcare and consumer products.
“The Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwings have seen tremendous attention since their introduction just days ago,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “These modern luxury performance sedans combine Cadillac’s most powerful engines ever built with a spectacular suspension to set a new standard for comfort and performance. As the last in a line of Cadillacs with a factory 6-speed manual transmission, these two first-production vehicles are destined to be coveted collector cars for generations to come. It is an honor that GM chose to auction these performance sedans as part of the largest docket of VIN 001 and first-production vehicles ever offered during one auction.”
