The esteemed Audrain Collection of Newport, Rhode Island, presented a striking 1967 Lamborghini Miura at this past weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The car took home a second in class in the Postwar Preservation class. The car was acquired by the Audrain Collections from the renowned collection of Dr. Nicholas Begovich Collection back in 2020.
The 1967 Lamborghini Miura presented by the Audrain Collections embodies the epitome of luxury and performance that the iconic Lamborghini brand is known for. Concours attendees and the judges marveled at the car due to its historical significance, exceptional provenance and immaculate condition.
The mission of the Audrain Automobile Museum to “preserve, celebrate and share automotive history” has seldom come to more vibrant life than in the presentation of the vehicles of the Nick Begovich Collection. As a vital part of sharing the vehicles in the Audrain Collection is in bringing them to the public on the road — being used as the builder intended — the long-parked Begovich cars all had to be recommissioned for use. Experts across five states and two countries were brought in to bring these cars back to vivid life, while doing all that could be done to preserve the traces of their life with Dr. Begovich.
“As this wonderful and truly historic automobile takes its place on the global stage, it is a moment of pride and celebration for all of us who have been involved in its preservation,” said Audrain CEO Donald Osborne. “This triumph is a true testament to everyone in the Audrain organization and our passion for preserving and sharing classic automobiles with enthusiasts worldwide. To be recognized this way in the company of so many amazing vehicles is very rewarding.”
Audrain continues to maintain and document the Miura and will share it at concours globally and through its digital media outlets.
